THIS SUCKS…but it’s supposed to.
It’s a suction pile, 32 ft. in diameter and the largest diameter pile ever fabricated in the US Gulf of Mexico. Weighing in at 474,000 pounds, it is shown here being loaded from Intermoor’s Fabrication Facility in Amelia on the way to mooring a floating structure in the Gulf of Mexico. DCL offered high performance synthetic rope slings out of its rental inventory for a fast, lightweight, inexpensive solution. DCL quickly adjusted the slings to meet the customer’s length requirements, within tolerance, proof loaded the slings and delivered on time.
