Kenter Connectors or Kenter Links are split links that are used to join sections or shots of chain that are of the same diameter. Kenters have three components: two halves and a center stud. The parts are secured with a tapered pin and a lead plug.
Kenter links are not commonly used in permanent mooring arrangements, as they have a shorter fatigue life than the formed links in a chain.
