DCL Mooring and Rigging carries a wide variety of fittings for just about any heavy lift application, maritime vessel, or anything in between. We carry master link fittings, hook fittings, latch kit fittings, drop forged wire rope clip fittings, wire rope clip attachment fittings, thimble fittings, sleeve fittings, socket fittings, spelter socket fittings, and wirelock.
Master links are used when combining two or more wire rope “LEGS” on the same sling in order to lift an object from multiple positions while still maintaining a central degree of lift. Eye hooks are available in carbon steel and alloy steel. Wirelock is a resin-based product for use in spelter sockets to properly attach the rope to the socket. It has a 100% termination efficiency. It is ideal for on-site application, has no hazardous molten metal, has an improved fatigue life. Sometimes wirelock requires the use of booster packs which essentially lower the necessary pouring temperature. For example, the ideal temperature pouring range is 48 degrees Fahrenheit to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Adding one booster pack if the temperature falls between 35 degrees Fahrenheit to 48 degrees Fahrenheit, will allow the poured socket to properly hold. Adding two booster packs is necessary if the temperature is 27 degrees Fahrenheit to 35 degrees Fahrenheit
